The big top is back!

Back by popular demand, we are delighted to announce that Barefoot Festival™ 2022's base will once again be the stunning Big Top.

With oodles of space to dance, watch, learn and play we just couldn't resist the lure of the fabulous Big Top this year. Come watch our evening performances, join in with some amazing workshops or just hang out and socialise with friends old and new, all in this glamours venue.

Burlesque with Doe Demure at Barefoot Festival™ 2022

Burlesque with Doe Demure - Doe is known for her dramatic and fluid belly dance style, has performed extensively as a burlesque showgirl, and is on the books of the UK's premier belly dance agency Taste Of Cairo. Doe trains performers, encouraging dancers to reach their highest potential. Based in Leicester, Doe Demure is choreographer to established dance troupes Chicas Locas Burlesque and Skytribe Fusion Bellydance.

Doe will be teaching two workshops on the Saturday at Barefoot, Burlesque and Fusion Belly dance. She is a generous teacher who aims to instil confidence and spark inspiration in her students.

Cuban Suelta Salsa with Tilly Calow at Barefoot Festival™ 2022

Cuban Suelta Salsa with Tilly Calow - Tilly has been performing and teaching for over 12 years, with specialisms in Cuban salsa, Turkish Roma belly dance and cultural dances from all over the world. She has a strong love of traditional dances and cultures and is always looking towards studying old dances and their origins and traditions.

Tilly is proud to have worked with amazing companies such as the Royal opera House, Havana salsa, ChaĆ­nes Dance Company and charities such as Caberesque, Comic Relief and Danceaid. This year at the beautiful barefoot festival she will be teaching Cuban Suelta salsa!

Hula Hoop with Emma Petkovic at Barefoot Festival™ 2022

Hula Hoop with Emma Petkovic - Emma will be leading an all ages all abilities hula hooping workshop and an improvers/more tricks workshop.

Emma lived in Bristol for 15 years and learned the art of hula hooping from Hooping Mad & the Bristol circus scene. She went to Burning Man with them to perform in the Conclave fire show in 2015, has made her own vintage circus style multi hoop act and now focuses on enjoying flow based practice AND learning pretty tricks. She loves to share and play hula hooping at community events.

Swing Dance with Leicester University Swingdance Society (LUSS) at Barefoot Festival™ 2022

Swing Dance with Leicester University Swingdance Society (LUSS) - LUSS are a community based swingdance group, based in Leicester, specialising in teaching dancing from the era of the swing big bands (1920s-40s). Their dance styles include Lindy Hop, Charleston, Solo Jazz, Balboa and the Blues and classes are open to everyone - No previous dance experience or partner is needed, just turn up and give it a try!
